... and I am so very glad I live in the future, so I can take you all with me while I travel to Japan!

In less than a day, I will be flying out of freezing Montreal to somewhat-less-freezing Tokyo. It is a 14-hour flight. I don't know how I'll make it -- I sit still about as well as any toddler -- but finally going to Japan is basically realizing my childhood dream. I love Japan, I've always loved Japan. Many of my mannerisms are unintentionally Japanese, I read manga, I watch anime, and I listen to Japanese pop music. I get Japanese jokes. I criticize Japanese-->English game translations. Every optional school project I've ever worked on involved Japanese culture. Have I made my point, yet? This is a wonderful moment in my life.

It's also a university graduation present to myself.

I've decided to use this journal as a travel-log. Every couple of days or so, I'll be posting pictures and writing about what we saw here. For those of you unfamiliar with blogging sites (hi, Mom!) you can leave comments by clicking "reply" at the very bottom. I can also reply to your comments, and I will be cutting (hiding) pictures and long posts behind

Ha! Bet you weren't expecting shots of my laundry in this post. Suckers. For the purposes of this exercise, I've allowed anonymous comments, so you won't have to fill any forms if you feel like commenting. You can even tell me I smell, it is okay; I will never know who said it!

... Well, until I check my IP loggers, anyway.

I have no idea how to end this entry, so let's have a Q&A!

Who's "we?"

"We" are me, myself, and Adiva. Adiva is my good friend; we've known each other for years. She is also my comic foil, which basically means I flail around wildly and she just stands there going : / at me. We have a system.

Will you see the yakuza?

The first rule about the yakuza is you do not talk about the yakuza. But we are going to visit Jen in Ota, so... probably!

Will you be as sarcastic and foul-mouthed as usual?

No, man, my grandmother is reading this. God, have some respect. Also I think my boss is here somewhere.

My SWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG!!! I am presumptuous enough to believe I am going to get some regardless of whether or not you intended on buying me any. And if Glyn gets a Geisha I want two!

Also... I've seen you're laundry before. Nothing about your panties bother me.

Looooooove youuuuuu!

Pretty sure you're not going to be the only one flailing wildly. I mean, y'know, JUST SAYING.
