Japan: Day One

lamoraThere was a cigarette vending machine in Ginza, and I tried to get some totally trendy ones for Sjean.
The vending machine carded me.
The vending machine. Carded me. And because I didn't have any fancy Japanese ID, it told me I wasn't allowed any cigarettes!
Day One in Japan: Jen and I had Indian food. How ironic!
But I survived a fourteen-hour flight, safe and sound, and Jen found me immediately and the subway system/JR Rail is fairly easy to navigate. Heading to Tokyo from Narita took a toll on me, though; I didn't get to sleep during the flight so I am exhausted right now.
But Jen helped me secure my Rail pass, open-ended tickets (Adiva, I accidentally bought too many, so I have some to give you, LOL) and get to the Sakura. (Adiva, my sense of time is all messed up -- but I had to fork out the hotel money straight away since it's a backpacker hotel, so you can just settle with me later.)
Now I'm sitting in our little room, still reeling from the fact that I am in Japan, and wrapped up in the yukata they give guests.
My first trip on a JR train! (Click the pics to make them bigger.)
Jen and I were together all of ten minutes before I set her to work mapping out routes for us:
She is a good sport!
ALSO THIS IS A SMALL ROOM:
You can get an idea from my surroundings. But's it's functional and charming!
Adiva is getting the trop bunk because she is a little monkey. And I have Issues from falling out of one as a child.
Our hotel is super cute and the staff is super nice!

Then... the Tokyo subway. And I thought Paris was complicated!

Sidenote: Jen is a huge Takarazuka fan (we are all going to see them on Sunday) and this is a store catered to their fans. I got some pics in before the sales rep bade me to stop.
